■ Long description
DODON ENGLISH is an English vocabulary game for iPhone and Android. Pictures of everyday things come down the screen, and players clear them by saying their names in English. The game is designed to help players learn English words as they play. Stage 1 (100 words) is free to play.

Saying English words out loud, again and again, is an important part of learning them. But reading word lists aloud or writing words over and over in a notebook can get dull, and it is hard to keep going. DODON ENGLISH turns that repetition into a game. To clear the pictures, players say the same English words again and again. The idea is that the words naturally stick as they play.

The game is made for people who have found it hard to keep going with word lists or notebooks, and for those who lose interest quickly when learning isn't fun. For people who already study regularly, it is also practice in naming things in English the moment they see them. A game takes about three minutes. Players answer out loud, with no tapping, spelling, or multiple choice. English beginners can play, from kids to adults getting back into English.

How to play: when a player names a picture in English, it pops and disappears. If a picture they missed gets close, they slide their paper plane out of the way with a finger. Each hit costs one of their three lives. At the end of each stage, a boss appears and throws pictures. Players lower the boss's health by naming those pictures in English, and beat the boss by bringing its health to zero before time runs out. Words players say to clear pictures are saved in their Word Book, so they can look back at them later.

■ Key features
・Made to keep players going: Naming pictures in a row builds a combo, the effects get flashier and flashier, and the music builds too.
・Help with words players don't know yet: Grabbing the magnifying glass shows the words on the pictures, so players can read them out loud to pop pictures they couldn't name. After each game, Words you missed lists the words they couldn't say, and ▶ Listen plays each one so they can say it out loud right there.
・From everyday words to harder ones: About 90% of the words in free Stage 1 are beginner level (CEFR-J A1–A2). With the Main Game and Expansion Pack, there are 11 stages and up to 1,100 words in all, from the zoo, school, home, town, and sea to a theme park and a home improvement store.
・Plays offline: Speech recognition runs on the device, and players' voices are never recorded or sent.
・Game screens in 11 languages: Whatever the language, players learn English words.

■ From the developer
I made this game to support my daughter, a junior high school student preparing for an English test. To remember a word, you need to say it again and again. But reading aloud alone gets dull, and it's hard to keep going. My daughter gets bored especially easily, so I designed the game so that you naturally end up saying the same English words many times while you play. When a word you don't know comes up, you can use the magnifying glass to see how it's spelled, or listen to it after the game and practice it right there. If you're new to games like this, start on Easy. I've already played for hours myself, and I'm learning words I didn't know before. I hope you'll give it a try.
